We wish to share with mixed feelings that João Alves and Andrés Pardo have moved on from the NOA/Salomé Research Group at INL, pursuing new opportunities that reflect their growing expertise and increasing impact in the photovoltaic and materials fields.
João Alves
João served a key role in our team as Software Engineer in the Salomé group, contributing to digitalization of energy applications and asset management. He has moved to Critical TechWorks, where he remains based in Portugal. His move aligns with his strengths in software, AI, data analysis, and energetic assists monitoring. We thank João for his contributions—particularly in segmentation / classification tools for large-scale PV assets—and we congratulate him on this new chapter.
Andrés Pardo
Andrés Pardo joined us working on advanced solar materials and absorber development, particularly exploring thin film solar cell technologies. He is now pursuing a position at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, where he continues to work with silicon solar cells—shifting his focus from chalcogenide (CIGS) systems to silicon-based PV. We support his career move and look forward to seeing his work contribute to cross-material innovation in solar energy.
Both João and Andrés leave behind valuable contributions: software and data tools, mentoring, experimentation, and project work that helped the group grow. We are proud to see alumni moving into new sectors, maintaining strong links with the energy and photovoltaics research community.
We wish them every success in their roles and know that they carry forward our group’s spirit of discovery, innovation, and collaboration. Once a NOA member: always part of the network.
